In February of 2022, Dr. Katie and her husband migrated from Sacramento, California to Mannford, Oklahoma in a caravan, bringing with them their three young children, one dog, two horses, thirteen chickens, and a cat. They love their new community and Dr. Katie has been enjoying getting to know all of the families and animal lovers in the greater Tulsa area.

Dr. Katie grew up in the Sacramento area and has had a love for animals from a very young age. Growing up, she enjoyed taking care of numerous animals, including birds, fish, cats, horses, dogs, rabbits, and even a few exotic reptiles. She spent countless hours riding and caring for horses at her eventing barn in Granite Bay, California.

  • Dr. Katie graduated from Granite Bay High School in 1999, and from there she attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. During the summers, she went back home to work at Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic as a small animal Veterinary Assistant. Her experiences at Loomis Basin reinforced her decision to pursue a career working with animals in some capacity after college. In 2003, Dr. Katie graduated from Westmont with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry.

  • Upon graduation, Dr. Katie pursued a lifelong dream to work with marine mammals and worked at Sea World San Diego. During her years there, she trained dolphins and worked in the seal and sea lion rescue and rehabilitation program. This helped further hone her skills in animal training and behavior, as well as animal husbandry. It was also in San Diego that Dr. Katie was first introduced to animal chiropractic when a fellow rider explained how chiropractic care had improved her horse’s condition.

  • Once Dr. Katie received chiropractic care for herself and performed extensive independent research, she knew that animal chiropractic care was her calling. Coming from a more medically-minded background, she was blown away by the results of this more natural approach to health. She attended Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas, and worked under Gene Giggleman, DVM, in his veterinary and animal chiropractic clinic. She went on to be certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, recognized as the gold standard in animal chiropractic.
